Tasting Notes for Château Pontet Nivelle 2021:

Although it's still quite young, we can anticipate some characteristics based on the climate and typical winemaking practices of the estate:
  • Color: Deep ruby colour, showing good concentration.
  • Nose: Expect a complex bouquet, featuring dark fruit aromas such as blackberry, cassis, and plum. There could be earthy undertones, with notes of tobacco, cedar, and subtle spices, as well as a hint of floral or herbal freshness.
  • Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a balance of ripe red and black fruit flavours. The wine may exhibit smooth tannins with good acidity, thanks to the cooler growing season. The Merlot should provide some softness and juiciness, while the Cabernet Sauvignon brings structure and complexity. If Petit Verdot is included, it may add a touch of spice and a slightly floral or peppery edge.
  • Finish: The finish is fresh, with lingering fruit and a touch of minerality, reflecting the estate's terroir.
