Glen Garioch 12 Year Old Malt Whisky Miniatures The Glen Garioch  12 year old 5cl contains a spirit first launched in the market in 2010, although the spirits-maker itself has been processing whisky since the 1700s. The Glen Garioch  12 year old malt whisky miniatures are formulated using only 100% malted barley, distilled in pot stills then aged in both ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks which gives this whisky a well-rounded character and a depth of complexity for a scotch. The Glen Garioch  12 year old mini is bottled at 48% ABV strength, recommended for neat drinking, poured over ice, or enjoyed as the whisky base of classic as well as modern cocktail creations. The Glen Garioch miniature opens to a nose that proudly displays the saltiness of the sea surrounding the distillery where it originates from in the eastern coast of Scotland. On the palate, non-seasoned whisky drinkers may find this scotch rather strong and not very approachable when taken neat. With a little bit of water or any other chaser, however, the subtle peatiness comes through along with the sweetness of malt and the woodiness of oak. The tastes of caramel, sultanas, ginger and other spices create another layer of flavour. The finish is sweet and smoky with hints of almond as the malty flavour continues to linger.
