Williams & Humbert's History started in 1877, when two Englishmen started crafting sherry in Jerez de la frontera. The winery is located in the geographical triangle formed by the cities of Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa Maria and Sunlucar de barracuda. This triangle has a unique microclimate owing to the influences of the Guadalquivir and guadalete. Today, the company is owned by the Medina family who are local to Jerez. A key player in the founding of the Sherry D.O., the bodega owns 300 hectares of vineyards, many in the Balbaina Pago, which produces particularly complex and delicate wines. Williaams & Humbert produces a highly regarded international range of Sherries but has also gained a stellar reputation for their aged wines, in particular the solar Especial and W&H collection Range.
